What Causes Happiness | How To Be Happy
Achieving True Happiness

This page about what causes happiness supplements the
other page on this topic and gives an overview of why
three simple habits are so important for achieving true happiness on a consistent basis. This is sometimes referred to as authentic happiness.
What causes happiness = what causes life
I'd like to quote a few sentences from the free e-book that is available to everyone who subscribes to this site's Happiness Hub e-zine. There is some profound and deep stuff in that book which is about the precise science of getting rich. Here's what the authors says:
"There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe.A thought, in this substance, produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.
Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created."
It is this 'thinking stuff' that is the source and cause of all that is. I call that 'thinking stuff' consciousness. And when it is moving and creating and expanding, I call it creative consciousness.
A diagrammatic blueprint of what causes happiness
Whether or not we believe it, or know it, the quest in human life is towards conscious union with its own source, with that 'thinking stuff'.
Different people experience and express this subtle urge in different ways. However, there is a common thread that runs through all the variations of human desires, and that is the desire for more and more - with the desire to experience more happiness or joy in the process.
For some, this is a desire for more possessions. For others it might be a striving for more power, more recognition, more influence, and so on. And for yet others it takes on what might be called a more spiritual thirst - a thirst for more love, more peace, more bliss; for 'enlightenment'.
It doesn't matter in which way we experience this urge for more and more. It's not a case of who is right or who is wrong. The different wants and goals are merely different ways each of us is drawn towards the ultimate experience of more and more - i.e. the most. And this is none other than what has been referred to through the ages and in many ways: union with the God, communion with divinity, salvation, enlightenment, or unity consciousness.
Unity consciousness is a state in which our own human consciousness is expanded enough to appreciate - experientially - its own essential nature, which is 'absolute bliss consciousness', or a conscious alignment with 'the thinking stuff' by means of which we come into physical existence.
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
~ T.S. Eliot
