A Web Site Hierarchy Management System That Has Really Made Me A Happy Camper
If you landed directly on this page, click here to read what features a site hierarchy management system needs to have, for me to be happy with it.
This website is powered by Site Build It!, an integrated system for building websites that work. If you're not already using Site Build It! I strongly recommend that you take a look at what it's all about. The site blueprint management system I'm now using - after many other methods I've tried and dumped - integrates beautifully with the Site Build It! principles of 'keyword focussed content pages' (KFCP), where the home page is the Tier 1 page. Test drive the site blueprint methodology that I use
To spread a little happiness, I'll show you the method that I use to create a blueprint for a Web structure diagram where each Web page focuses on a good keyword. Check my system out and see if it will work for you as well as it works for me. How to get started
- Download the free OpenSource software called FreeMind and install it on your computer. Click here to access the download page.
- Download the free OpenSource software called Freeplane and keep it for installing later. (The tutorial is written around FreeMind, and needs to be revamped for a newer and better version of the program, which is called Freeplane. So, once you have worked through the tutorial with FreeMind, I suggest you install Freeplane and uninslall FreeMind. Then work with Freemind and adapt to its additional features as needed.)
- Create a new folder on your hard drive, and give it any name you wish. This is the folder to which you will download the tutorial files I've prepared for you.
- Download all four of the files in the folder below (including the image file) to the new folder you've created on your computer. (Click on each file in turn to save it to your tutorial folder.)
- Once all the files are downloaded, first open and read the file named creating-your-website-blueprint.pdf.
If you have any questions or suggestions
Feel free to use the Contact | Comment form to e-mail me. Also, I'd be interested to have any feedback on whether you found this method useful in developing your own site hierarchy. All the best! And ... above all ... be happy! :-)
