The amount of nutrition in food had declined substantially in recent decades. A high proportion of the food available these days consists of manufactured and highly processed substances.

Even natural food itself has become mass-produced, with the addition of chemical fertilizers and other growth and freshness additives; and now we have genetic modification too.

There is a lot of scientific research available today that proves beyond any doubt that vegetables and fruit grown today contain a much lower percentage of vital nutrients than they did less than a hundred years ago.
