Important for Happiness
Happiness, health and wellness are very closely linked
It’s certainly not so easy to feel truly happy while you’re feeling sick. However, feeling sick and being unhealthy are not exactly the same thing.
A healthy person may have a cold and feel pretty lousy. But often a cold is simply the body getting rid of impurities so that it can get back to its usual healthy state. So it's a short-lived lousy experience, with perhaps some short-lived temporarily reduced happiness.
When you feel well, and you know you're also healthy, then you're well placed to experience exhilaration, joy and happiness.
On the other hand, even though you may feel 'well', if you also know that you have a serious underlying health problem, or a life-threatening illness, then you'll quite likely also eperience some underlying, nagging unhappiness.
Whichever way we choose to look at it, in the end it is clear that health and wellness are important foundations in the experience of what some call authentic happiness.
Health is more than simply the absence of sickness or disease
It's time society moved beyond seeing health as just the absence of temporay illness or long-term disease. We should see health in as the more positive experiences of vitality, creativity and joy.
This is the state we need to aspire to - a state of true wellbeing, or Peak Health as it is sometimes called.
Hopefully one day the Departments of 'Health' and 'Health Care' companies will stop focusing on illness, hospitals, clinics and medicines, and start focusing on national programs to generate 'Peak Health' and true happiness.
