How Daily Positive Affirmations
Can Be Used
To Reinforce A Belief And Expand Happiness

Page 3 - Three Daily Positive AffirmationsSo, here's how to reinforce a belief, using a method I learned from a book I once read.
Allow 5 to 10 minutes of quiet time for this
- Decide what time of the day you can easily set aside 5 to 10 minutes for a minimum of three consecutive days of this daily practice, up to about 5 days if possible.
- Decide how much time you will devote to each session (between 5 and 10 minutes - no longer). There will be only one session per day.
- Start the practice as explained below.
Follow this procedure
- Concentrate your attention as vividly as possible upon your one single statement (e.g, the aphorism, When I am truthful, I feel good.)
- Verbally or mentally repeat the statement over and over, and focus on it for the full duration of your session.
- Feel the statement in whatever way is possible.
- It is best not to allow thoughts or other distractions to take your focus off the statement and its meaning.
- If your mind does jump around, and you become aware of it, then encourage it to incorporate the essence of the statement in any images or other patterns of thinking that may arise. But also have the intention to come back to the statement in a focussed way, but without straining.
- Acknowledge that you are using the present time as a moment of power to insert a new belief - or in our case to affirm an existing belief - and that this belief affirmed in this way will indeed be materialised.
- When the session is finished, do not dwell upon it. Put it from your mind and get on with your day's activities.

To help you remember the wording for this short-term daily exercise, I've prepared a PDF chart for each aphorism, as well as a copy of the Happiness Blueprint chart and one or two others.

In case you forget the wording during the exercise, keep a copy of the applicable chart with you when you're using that aphorism during your daily positive affirmations exercise.
Use only one aphorism at a time:
During your 3 to 5 days of doing this exercise, do it with the same aphorism each day. Once you have completed the 5 days with one aphorism, wait till the following week before starting the same procedure with the next one. Then do the same with the third aphorism: start it the week following the second aphorism's exercise.
Notes
- This repetition, verbally or mentally, is important because it enlivens biological patterns.
- You may experience spectacular results at once. But continue the exercise even if this happens.
- Inner channels become re-patterned. There will be a feel to this that will serve as your individual guideline.
- There is no need to continue the practice beyond ten minutes. In fact, many will find that difficult to do. Spending a longer period of time simply invites the notion of problems.
How to use daily positive affirmations to unlock more happiness
When using this method to instill a new belief
This exercise for now is specifically for reinforcing the beliefs as stated in those three aphorisms given on the previous page. It may also be used to replace an undesired belief with a new and desired one. In such a case, these notes would apply:
- You may need to experiment a little for the proper wording of your declaration, but three days at the very least are necessary before you can tell, through results, how effective it has been.
- A change of wording may be in order. When you feel right about the statement, continue repeating it till the end of your session.
- Other than that, your attention should be completely relaxed, for time is needed to entrench the belief.
Notes for those who practise a meditation technique
If you have the time, a good time to use this method would be just after completing your meditation session, when your mind is still quiet and not distracted by the daily activity.
For those who use Conscious Mental Rest©
- Please be sure to complete your entire CMR session first, including the 2+1 ending-off part. Then start a new and separate 5 to 10 minutes as explained above. Do not do the beliefs method as part of your Conscious Mental Rest© session itself.
- Once you have been using CMR for about six months - regularly twice a day - and you experience a suitable stability in your life, then you can become eligible to take the advanced course. In that course you will learn a very specific method for accelerating the expansion of consciousness on the basis of CMR. That method uses specific seed-thoughts that will be taught in the course.
- It is strongly recommended that you do not mix other techniques like this daily positive affirmations method with your practice of Conscious Mental Rest©. The two are different processes altogether, with different purposes.
