Unlock Your Happiness ~ Enjoy Greater Peace of Mind
Becoming Aware Of My Breath
I've recently noticed that while I'm in the comfort zone, a gentle awareness of my breath will come up. I do not intentionally concentrate on the breath but sometimes when it naturally pops into my awareness, I find that this experience has a pleasant, lulling quality to it. This awareness of breath will appear and disappear a few times throughout a session. I'm curious whether I should embrace this experience if it naturally happens or view it like I have left the comfort zone and intentionally disengage from breath awareness.
To give you a little background about myself, TM is the only form of meditation I have ever done. I have absolutely no experience with forms of meditation that are breathing or concentration based.
Dan, during your Conscious Mental Rest session treat the awareness of your breath innocently. Be neither concerned about it nor encouraging of it.
If noticing your breath is spontaneous, then that's fine. When you notice that you are noticing your breath, that is becoming aware that you are thinking about it. When that happens, easily come back to the comfort zone and let go.
