Use The Law of Attraction To Be Happier

There's now a new 9-page free mini-course you can read online to accelerate your expansion of happiness. This is the essence of the approach I call Conscious Mental Attention.

Like Conscious Mental Rest (CMR), Conscious Mental Attention (CMA) is simple yet very profound in its effects. If you apply this approach in your daily life it can make a really significant difference to the quality of your life -- to your happiness, health and vitality.

I invite you to try it for yourself and see if you agree. Feedback will be welcomed.

There are a lot of philosophies and theories regarding the use of human attention, and a lot of esoteric beliefs and pronouncements. People talk about Natural Law, and about a Universal Law of Attraction, which is said to be a law that governs the principle that like attracts like: that when we think about something, our thinking attracts the essence of more of the same.

This mini-course explains this in more detail and, more importantly, it tells you exactly how you can use your attention wisely for a happier and more fulfilling life, and why it works.

There's even a link on one of the pages to a Monty Python video clip!

CMR: How Can Something So Simple Be So Effective?

To skip this summary and go straight to the full two-page answer on the website, click on this link:

A new student of Conscious Mental Rest recently asked me how it is that something as simple and effortless as CMR can be so effective in changing one's life for the better. This question gave me the nudge I needed to get something up on the website that would try to answer that very valid question.

Experiences With Conscious Mental Rest

Rick: CMR compared with meditation techniques I've used

When Rick posted his comments at the CMR Forum he had been experiencing CMR for eight days. He has used several techniques in the past, including Transcendental Meditation, Hong Sau meditation and Kriya Yoga Pranayama.

Read what Rick says about his personal experience with CMR compared with those techniques:

What prujoy's husband noticed

"I am writing a "testimonial" on behalf of my husband.
He has been using CMR for nearly 2 weeks but only once per day for an average of about 15 minutes each session & only for about 5 days out of 7! So not exactly a regular regimen - ha ha!"

Game For Some Self-improvement Homework?

In the August issue I mentioned some items that would be covered in future issues of Happiness Hub and in new Web pages. But it seems that creating the new free online mini-course mentioned earlier came up as a spontaneous urge ahead of those items. So we'll keep those on the list and get to them soon.

In the meantime, I'll mention the three critical areas alluded to in the last issue -- areas where we each probably need to do a better job if we want to be free and at peace within ourselves, and happier human beings.

Personal Integrity / Truthfulness ... which flowers into self-love

Homework exercise: Whenever you need to choose between two courses of action, and one is total truthfulness and the other ... er ... not quite so totally honest, listen to your inner voice and choose for truthfulness. Then feel what kind of feeling you have inside. Make a mental or even a written note about it.

Kindness ... which flowers into love towards others

Homework exercise: Whenever you interact with someone else, and you have the option to get a bit scratchy, sharp, sarcastic, mean, or selfish, notice how you're feeling. And choose to be kind instead. Then notice if the not-so-good feelings shifted afterwards. Make a mental or even a written note about it.

Appreciation ... which flowers into gratitude and love towards all

Homework exercise: Whenever you feel a bit 'down', despondent, or sad, or just not so good, find something in your present situation that you can appreciate.

It might be your cellphone, your partner's hairstyle, the fact that it is pouring with rain outside and you're nice and warm and dry in your home. It could be the fact that you do have a job this moment and will receive your salary at the end of the week or month.

And if you do not have an income right now, you could perhaps appreciate the fact that you probably still have at least some home comforts, right now, in this moment. So, appreciate those. Then see if you notice any change in how you feel.

If we can make progress towards doing a better job of how we manage ourselves in these three areas - truthfulness, kindness and appreciation - it is amazing how that can change one's experience of life and help unlock the happiness within.

And if we can sustain that behaviour on an ongoing day-to-day basis, we're doing a good job of not sabotaging the benefits gained from our daily sessions of Conscious Mental Rest or our (effective) meditation technique.

More about Personal Integrity

Please feel free to share your own views and experiences in respect of this Personal Integrity and Truthfulness, by creating your own Web page at Unlock-Your-Happiness.com (it's easy ... honestly) :-).

How I Built This Website
I built this site myself, with no technical knowledge or experience, using a 10 year-old system. Now SBI! has an all-new BlockBuilder 2 that is awesome! I intend to create a second site with it and probably revamp this one too.
